my skin cancer story:
I'm doing this to raise awareness of skin cancer among the LGBTIQA+ community. I grew up in the Riverina in the 1980s and 1990s. I loved being outside in sunshine playing cricket, tennis and swimming. I also deliberately tanned to improve my body image. I knew I was at risk, and everyone in my family has had skin cancers removed. I've had three removed in the past three years, including one in the past month. I'm committed to getting checked every six months to keep on top of any changes and encourage others in the LGBTIQA+ communities to do the same.
